The 30-second version: This site collects minimal data. Your calculator inputs are never sent to our servers — every calculation happens in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns and Google AdSense to display ads. The only personal data we receive is what you voluntarily send via the contact form. We don't sell your data. Ever.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how notaxovertimecalc.com ("the site," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our site. NoTaxOvertimeCalc is a free calculator and educational resource for the federal No Tax on Overtime deduction created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
We've written this policy in plain English. If anything is unclear, contact us and we'll explain.
2. Information We Collect
2a. Information you give us voluntarily
The only personal data we receive directly is what you type into our contact form:
- Name — so we can address our reply
- Email address — so we can reply
- Message content — so we know what you're asking about
We use this only to reply to your inquiry. We keep it until the matter is resolved, up to a maximum of 12 months. We do not add you to any mailing list, send you newsletters, or share your contact details with anyone else.
2b. Information collected automatically (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects:
- Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
- Approximate geographic location (country and region — not your street address)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct visit, referral)
- Scroll depth and basic click interactions
GA4 does not collect your name, email address, income figures, or anything you enter into the calculator. The data is aggregated — we see "X visitors used the calculator this week," not individual user actions tied to identities.
Legal basis under GDPR: Legitimate interests (analytics) for understanding traffic patterns; Consent for any advertising-related cookies.
2c. Calculator inputs — important
Your calculator data never leaves your browser Important
All calculations performed by this tool happen entirely within your browser. No data you enter into the calculator — your hourly rate, income, overtime hours, filing status, MAGI — is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere on our end. We have no access to, and no way to retrieve, your financial inputs. The site is static HTML; there is no database to write to.
If you use the "Share Result" feature, your inputs are encoded into a URL that you control. Sharing that URL is your choice.
3. Cookies
A "cookie" is a small text file a website stores on your device. We use only the cookies necessary for analytics and advertising. We do not use any first-party cookies for tracking, profiling, or any other purpose.
Google Analytics cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes individual users for analytics | 2 years |
| _ga_[ID] | Maintains session state for analytics | 2 years |
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the official browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google AdSense cookies
When advertising is active on the site, Google AdSense will place cookies to show relevant ads. Google may use these cookies to personalize ads based on your browsing across other sites that participate in Google's ad network.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com. EU/EEA users will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
No other first-party or third-party cookies are used by this site.
4. Google AdSense
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. The following disclosures are required by Google's AdSense program policies:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.

- Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting Google's ads and content network privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- We have no control over the cookies used by Google AdSense or third-party advertisers shown through Google's ad network.
